Once upon a time in Classroom Tavern there was a queen that loved fairy tales, but she began to grow tired of the same ol’ fairy tales she heard over and over. So, to fix this she ordered her 25 best storywriters to fracture some of her favorite fairy tales. They could change characters, settings or the problem of the story to change it up a bit. For them to be able to accomplish this important quest, they must fill out a flow chart that shows the plan and outline of the story. If this is not done, it will end in an ultimate failure and the queen of Classroom Tavern will be very unhappy.
Some of the queen’s favorite Fairy tales are:
The Three Little Pigs
Goldie Locks & The Three Bears
Three Billy Goats Gruff
Hansel & Gretel
Beauty & The Beast
Sleeping Beauty
Cinderella
Jack & The Beanstalk
objectives: 3.L.2- Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing
W.3.3- Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, descriptive detail and clear event sequences
W.3a- Establish a situation and introduce a narrator and/or characters; organize an event sequence that unfolds naturally
W.3b- Use dialogue and descriptions of actions, thoughts, and feelings to develop experiences and events or show the response of characteristics to situations.
W.3d- provide a sense of closure
REFLECTION- This project brought to my attention the various ways I can incorporate 21st century skills into my classroom. When someone thinks of using technology in their classroom, one normally doesn't think to use types of technology such as this. Although this project was a bit frustrating, seeing the final product was really cool. However, I do see myself using technology and 21st century skill such as the published book project and possibly other voice recording projects because I loved how creative it allowed me to be and that is always a great outlet to give to your students.
